GYMNASIUM L.T. STAVROUPOLI
Our school is located in a picturesque village called Stavroupoli in the north of Xanthi, on the mountain Rodopi, by the banks of the river Nestos. The population at the moment does not exceed the 500 people, but in the past it used to be ten times more and Stavroupoli was the financial and administrative centre of the area with many facilities and services.
The beauty of the area is breathtaking. A few hotels welcome the tourists all over the year offering them the opportunity to enjoy a lot of activities such as riding, canoeing, trekking, archery.
In the nice square of Stavroupoli visitors can enjoy a cup of coffee with local delicacies…
…or take part in traditional festivals There is also a folklore museum and many churches. Five km away there is a Macedonian tomb dating back from the 2nd century BC.
Another landmark of the area is also the colorful train station and the clear waters of the river.
The school has 50 students from 12-18 years old (gymnasium and lyceum). The older …
